Dan Shoemaker

Position: General manager Years plumbing: 14 & 20 years hydronic heating Years with Richfield: 12 years full time About: Dan possesses a strong work ethic, and was taught the proper way to be a plumber from an early age.  As early as 10 yrs old, Dan was working with his father (Vern) during summers, and weekends. After high school, he began working at Richfield full time and has been an integral part of the company ever since. Dan has a true passion for the industry, is always going that extra mile to learn new things and move forward with the industry.  He works hard to ensure that his team is both knowledgeable and supported.  Favourite tool: Gear benders for bending copper Training: Journeyman plumber, Class 2 gas fitter, Hydronic designer, Uponor fire safety, Uponor hydronic heating, Tekmar controls training, Trinity boilers training, John woods water heaters trained, Noritz water heater trained, Solar heating trained, Scissor and boom lift certified, WHIMS and first aid trained. Vern Shoemaker

Vern Shoemaker Years plumbing: 48 Years with Richfield: 35 About: Vern started plumbing in 1966 with Milner plumbing in Stettler Alberta where he learned his grassroots from Fred Milner. Then moved to Edmonton in 1971 where he worked with Bryant Plumbing for four years then worked with Dual Plumbing until he founded Richfield in 1979, Vern has been the sole inspiration behind Richfield plumbing and has built a reputation of demanding the highest of standards. Andy Bailey

Position: Estimator Years with Richfield: 5 About: Andy became interested in plumbing as he understands the crucial impact that ‘water’ has on us all.  Andy states “Harnessing the flow of water is arguably the most important aspect of civilization, that and I love soldering!” Andy started out at Richfield Plumbing and Heating as a plumbing apprentice and has grown to the position of Estimator through hard work and dedication.  If you have an opportunity to speak with Andy you will notice an English accent which commonly is confused with an Australian accent! Andy did have the opportunity to travel to Australia which is where he met the woman who is now the love of his life. Position: Apprentice Years plumbing: 2.5 Years with Richfield: 2.5

Jeff Hupka

Position: Service Plumber Time with Richfield: December 2015 About: Jeff’s uncle owned a plumbing company and offered Jeff the opportunity to work for his company instead of having to travel up north for work.  Jeff completed service work and plumbing for custom homes.  He continues to broaden his area of experience daily.  Interesting detail…Jeff’s Uncle previously worked for Richfield Plumbing in 1996!! Favourite tool: Water pump pliers because he uses them for almost anything. Training: Fall Arrest, Gas Tite Favourite Quote: “There are no short cuts to any place worth going.”

Tyler Dyck

Position: Plumbers Helper Time with Richfield: Part time for summers and now Full Time since June 2016 About: Ty’s father is a Journey Plumber with Richfield Plumbing so Ty figured he could learn some of the ropes.  Richfield Plumbing is the first plumbing related position that TY has held and we are happy to have him as a part of the tram.  In Ty’s spare time he enjoys playing and watching hockey. Favourite tool: The drill because everything would be a lot harder if it were not for a drill. Training: First Aid Favourite Quote: “A royal flush is better than a full house.”
